ONE HUNDRED Madrid Chamartín and Atocha Cercanías station now open!

Jan 12, 2022

Two new ADIF locations: Madrid Chamartín station and Atocha Cercanías station are now open! With services focused on passenger well-being like a shower room and a health check station.

Today, Wednesday, January 12, Madrid Chamartín Clara Campoamor train station has opened its first premium public toilets for passengers, thanks to the Dutch company ONE HUNDRED restrooms. This inauguration comes right after the opening of the second location of premium toilets at Madrid Puerta de Atocha station, specifically in the Cercanías area. The new facilities include a shower service and a health check station, among other innovative features.

Since 2021, ONE HUNDRED already has facilities in Madrid Puerta de Atocha (the first in Spain), in the Jardín Tropical area, as well as two other facilities in Barcelona Sants.

With the opening of these new spaces, ONE HUNDRED intends that each visit to the bathroom will bring a few minutes of well-being to the visitor in exchange for an entrance fee of 1 euro, an amount that can be recovered in the form of a discount in the stores of the same station. “We have fulfilled the objective of incorporating a shower room in our bathrooms, thus satisfying the service most asked for by users in recent years,” explains Niels Bakker, general manager of ONE HUNDRED Spain. For its part, Adif Alta Velocidad states that the new toilets are intended to improve the quality of service to users.

The new facilities in Madrid Chamartín are located on the first floor and have a surface area of 180 m2. The second facilities in Madrid Puerta de Atocha, in the Cercanías area, are located on the second floor and have 180 m2.
