Today, the Dutch Ambassador opened the first ONE HUNDRED® flagship store in Stockholm. A completely new approach to public restrooms, promoting health and wellbeing, that answers to increasing worries about hygiene among 28 percent of young Swedes.
The new standard in public washrooms
Health & Hygiene are not the first things that come to mind when visiting a public washroom. But in Stockholm you can now visit the first store of One Hundred restrooms and leave healthier and without any hygiene concerns. One Hundred restrooms offer visitors services to “Relieve, Refresh, Reload” that turns a toilet visit from a necessary evil into a reviving micro break.
Partnering, among others, with Essity’s Tork brand, to secure relevant customer insights and latest hygiene innovations in the new restroom experience. “These high-standard facilities will improve essentials like handwashing. Wherever you live, handwashing can prevent infections
and even save lives”, says Joséphine Edwall-Björklund, Head of Communications at Essity.
The facilities include many new features beside the design, experience and cleanliness. With cutting-edge technology, health-check areas, a hydration station and other services that make a difference to the well-being of visitors. All designed and equipped with a high degree of environmental awareness and innovation.
Launching in Stockholm with big ambitions
The Dutch company now enters the Swedish market after having successfully launched the new concept in Spain. The company’s global ambitions are focused on high traffic areas, such as shopping centers, transport hubs and gas stations. “It’s our ambition to welcome 100 million visitors, within a few years from now.” says Chief Commercial Officer of One hundred restrooms, Niels Bakker.
The Dutch Ambassador in Sweden, Mrs. Ines Cooppoolse, and Josephine Edwall-Björklund, Senior Vice President Communications of Essity addressed the importance of hygiene & health innovations at the opening ceremony. The store is located in the Gallerian shopping center, the most iconic shopping mall, in the heart of Stockholm.
