ONE HUNDRED RESTROOMS launches at Nordstan Ambassador of the Netherlands inaugurates inclusive toilet concept with focus on well-being

Gothenburg, 12 February 2026 – Today, the Dutch company ONE HUNDRED has officially inaugurated its first well-being-focused public restrooms in Gothenburg, located at Nordstan, the most iconic shopping destination in central Gothenburg.

The official opening was attended by the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Sweden, Joost Reintjes, who, together with Helena Lindqvist, CEO of Nordstan and the co-founder Bram Gleichman of ONE HUNDRED, performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

After a soft launch that began on 30 December, the facilities are now formally inaugurated. Designed to evoke all senses, high accessibility, and a strong focus on visitor experience, the location introduces a new approach to care and comfort in public restrooms.

Under the guiding principle “Relieve, Refresh, Reload,” visitors gain access to a range of services designed to support comfort, well-being, and (child) care in the vibrant urban environment. ONE HUNDRED develops and operates well-being restroom concepts in high-traffic locations across Europe. Active in Sweden since 2019, with locations at Gallerian, Liljeholstorget, Kista, and Jernhusen, the company now expands to Gothenburg with the new location at Nordstan, continuing its journey to redefine the everyday toilet break.

Care for everyone

The space is designed with a modern, hygienic, wellness-inspired atmosphere, combining comfort and functionality. The facility features unisex cubicles, including a disabled restroom, a shower, and a family lounge with changing facilities, the option to heat food for small children, and a kids play area.

Visitors can access a range of free well-being services, including a quick health check measuring blood pressure, BMI, and oxygen saturation. A hydration station offers chilled, filtered drinking water at no cost. Guests are invited to make a voluntary contribution to water projects in developing countries, in collaboration with Made Blue and Roca’s We Are Water Foundation.

First shopping center in Gothenburg with RWC+ restroom

What makes this restroom facility unique is its well-equipped, RWC+ restroom. This is the first public restroom in central Gothenburg to offer an adapted toilet with a mobile lift, enabling people with reduced mobility to use the restroom safely and comfortably together with a caregiver.

Located on Lilla Klädpresaregatan, the restrooms are staffed by ONE HUNDRED’s comfort
crew and form part of Nordstan’s new Service Centre, which will open in the adjacent space
in early 2026. The restrooms are available during the shopping center opening hours.

Joost Reintjes, Ambassador of the Netherlands states:

“This opening highlights the strength of Dutch entrepreneurship and innovation. ONE HUNDRED shows how thoughtful design and smart solutions can improve everyday experiences in public spaces. It is encouraging to see this kind of innovation taking shape here in Sweden.”

Helena Lindqvist, CEO of Nordstan, comments:

“Nordstan is a vibrant urban space and a natural meeting place in the heart of Gothenburg. Through our partnership with ONE HUNDRED, we can offer our visitors a new level of service and comfort that truly supports everyday needs.”

Bram Gleichman, Co-founder and CCO from ONE HUNDRED adds:

“We are proud to open our first location in Gothenburg as part of our continued growth in Sweden. Nordstan is a strong, high-traffic destination where accessibility, design, and visitor experience come together. This partnership supports our ambition to scale our well-being concept across Europe and deliver added value for both visitors and our partners.”

Technology and sustainability

ONE HUNDRED restrooms integrates smart technology and responsible practices across its operations. Each facility is designed to support efficient water use, energy efficiency, and life time extension while digital tools enable continuous improvement in both service quality and daily operations.

ONE HUNDRED restrooms welcomes visitors to its second URW location in Spain

Dutch scale-up ONE HUNDRED restrooms has officially opened its second Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) location: Parquesur Madrid. Bringing a new level of restroom experience to the shopping center. The brand aims to transform a routine visit into a moment of relief, refresh, and reload.

Together with URW, ONE HUNDRED already operates the restrooms in the La Vaguada shopping center. Spanish visitors may already be familiar with the innovative toilet concept from this shopping center, from MareMagnum in Barcelona, or from the ONE HUNDRED restrooms at major ADIF railway stations.

The collaboration reflects a shared vision: enhancing visitor comfort and redefining essential services as part of a modern retail experience. For ONE HUNDRED restrooms, the Parquesur opening represents both a strategic partnership and an opportunity to demonstrate how design and technology can improve public well-being.

At Parquesur, ONE HUNDRED introduces its full well-being concept, designed to promote comfort, hygiene, and self-care. Guided by the philosophy “relieve, refresh, reload,” the brand turns a simple restroom visit into a meaningful well-being moment.

The facility is designed with a focus on efficient water use, energy conservation, and long-term circularity. It offers a contactless environment ensuring maximum hygiene for visitors. A calming interior with warm lighting, soothing music, natural fragrances, and high-end finishes creates a premium atmosphere.

The Parquesur location brings together three well-being modules. Visitors can check in on their health in two ways: digitally and physically. The digital option, the IntelliProve face scan, provides a quick, contactless health check by analysing clinically validated biomarkers such as heart rate, stress, and sleep quality. For a more hands-on approach, the Keito health station acts as a physical scale, allowing visitors to monitor vital signs including blood pressure, BMI, and temperature. Alongside these, the hydration station by Made Blue offers filtered, chilled drinking water and, through its “one litre for one litre” model, supports clean water projects in developing countries.

The toilets are open during the mall’s opening hours and are located next to FNAC. The restrooms include separate areas for women and men, and a shared room for family use and accessible needs. A comfort crew member is present at all times to assist visitors and keep the facilities clean. Westfield Club members receive free access during the initial period to experience this new service.

FASTNED AND ONE HUNDRED RESTROOMS LAUNCH FIRST COLLAB CONCEPT AT GENTBRUGGE

The highway service station of the future.

Amsterdam, 19 September 2025 – This week Fastned and ONE HUNDRED restrooms celebrated the official opening of their first collab restroom concept at the newly opened dual-side highway service areas in Gentbrugge South and North. This launch kicks off the next step in their European collaboration, offering a completely reimagined highway experience focused on electric drivers’ well-being, comfort, and efficiency.

At the heart of this experience is the collab restroom concept: a new proposition developed by ONE HUNDRED restrooms for brands like Fastned that want to integrate the ONE HUNDRED high-end well-being experience into their own branded environments. The co-designed restrooms enhance the customer experience and reinforce the visual identity of Fastned at the same time.

Global research of Deloitte1 shows that people charging their vehicles seek high-quality amenities to make the most of their waiting time. Fastned and ONE HUNDRED are addressing this need with future proof restrooms that provide a comfortable and reviving break during charging.

“At Fastned, we build fast charging stations for people, » says Luuk Valk, Head of Retail Development & Retail Operations at Fastned. “Because people on the road need more than just a charged battery: they want good food, drinks, clean restrooms, and a place to relax. Our goal is to become the go-to stop for everyone traveling, whether you’re driving an EV or not.”

“That’s why we partnered with ONE HUNDRED restrooms. Their innovative and hygienic facilities perfectly align with our ambition to set a new benchmark along the road. Together, we offer a complete experience where quality, comfort, and hospitality come first.”

« We want drivers to see our stations as a destination worth stopping for not only to recharge their car, but also to recharge themselves. With ONE HUNDRED restrooms onboard, our stations go beyond being just a pit stop. They become a place where travellers can truly refresh and continue their journey energized. »

In collaboration with design studio Desarc, ONE HUNDRED created a tailor-made concept that blends the distinctive ONE HUNDRED well-being design with Fastned’s iconic identity. Signature features include fresh blue/wood colours, custom Fastned lighting and coat hooks shaped like the Fastned logo. The new concept includes innovative modules such as a mini vending with fresh-up items for travellers, a digital face scan developed with Belgian health tech company IntelliProve2 offering insights into stress levels and overall well-being, ONE HUNDRED’s smart urinal that monitors hydration, key for safe driving, as well as a shower, baby changing station and accessible toilet facilities.

Upon entering the restrooms through the turnstile, visitors receive a voucher worth €0.50 to use on their next food or beverage purchase in the Fastned shop, the perfect way to recharge during their journey.

« The collab concept represents a powerful blend of our shared missions: to enhance well-being and support a smooth, stress-free journey, » says Mariëlle Romeijn, Co-founder and Chief Brand Officer of ONE HUNDRED restrooms. « With the new Fastned restrooms, we are proving that a restroom stop can be a moment of care, innovation, and new energy. »

Fastned’s Gentbrugge areas are the first in Europe designed exclusively for electric vehicles. With 16 ultra-fast charging points on each side of the E17 highway, these sites can serve up to 1,000 electric vehicles per day, including trucks. The goal: make charging not just fast, but part of a premium travel experience.

Looking ahead, Fastned has 24 more sites in Belgium under development, three of which are already under construction. ONE HUNDRED restrooms will be a key well-being partner at all large service stations in this growing network. The partnership between Fastned and ONE HUNDRED will launch with new facilities at charging stations in Belgium and the Netherlands.

ONE HUNDRED joins forces to bring clean water and hygiene to 16,000 people in Sierra Leone

At ONE HUNDRED, our mission goes far beyond building toilets. We are committed to improving the well-being of both people and the planet, and we know that meaningful change requires strong partnerships. Providing clean water and better hygiene to as many people as possible is a cause we deeply believe in, but real impact happens when we join forces.

That’s why we are proud to partner with the Made Blue Foundation, WeAreWater Foundation, Roca Group, and World Vision to create lasting change in Sierra Leone. Through this collaboration, more than 16,000 people, including mothers and children, will gain access to clean water, improved hygiene, and better health through sustainable infrastructure and facilities.

Why Sierra Leone?

In Sierra Leone, more than 40% of the population lacks access to clean drinking water, and 84% live without proper sanitation facilities. Diseases caused by contaminated water remain a major cause of high mortality rates.

Vulnerable groups, such as pregnant women and children, suffer the most. Healthcare facilities should be safe spaces where people can seek help and recover, but without essential access to clean water, the risk of infection is dangerously high.

How we’re making a difference

Through this project, we are improving water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in three healthcare centers. The initiative will:

  • Build three solar-powered water wells
  • Install wheelchair-accessible latrines
  • Set up new waste management facilities
  • Expand maternity wards with essential equipment
  • Train healthcare workers and local residents in hygiene and waste management

Beyond infrastructure, we also aim to drive long-term change by promoting sustainable healthcare, encouraging better hygiene practices, and improving overall community well-being. Contaminated water is a major cause of diarrhea and malnutrition, particularly in children. With access to clean water and hygienic environments, nutrient absorption improves, infection rates drop, and overall health, especially for mothers and children, significantly improves.

Funding the change

Each partner is directly investing in this project. Additionally, we are raising funds through donation functions at the water taps in ONE HUNDRED restroom locations. This allows visitors to contribute directly to improving access to clean water and hygiene in Sierra Leone.

A word from our partners

Carlos Garriga, Director of the We Are Water Foundation, emphasises:
« This is the kind of project that makes us proud and can be defined in one word: partnership. »

Marco van der Graaf, CEO of World Vision, shares:
« I am incredibly grateful for the children and families in Sierra Leone who will now have access to clean water and better hygiene facilities. »

A shared vision for the future

This initiative began with a common goal: to improve global sanitation. By combining the expertise, resources, and dedication of all four partners, we have overcome challenges and successfully launched this life-changing project. The signing of this partnership marks the beginning of something much bigger than any one organisation could achieve alone.

FASTNED AND ONE HUNDRED RESTROOMS SIGN COLLABORATION AGREEMENT

A reviving restroom break for road travelers across Europe

Amsterdam, 7th of January— Fastned, a leading provider of fast-charging stations for electric vehicles across Europe, and ONE HUNDRED restrooms have announced a strategic collaboration, following the signing of a European framework agreement between the two companies. This collaboration aims to deliver a high-quality, reviving restroom experience for EV travelers and all other road users across Europe, setting a new standard in comfort, safety, and well-being along the European highways.

Research shows that visitors of highway service stations increasingly seek high-quality amenities to make the most of their waiting time or break. Fastned and ONE HUNDRED are addressing this need with co-designed restrooms that offer a comfortable, energising break, ensuring that all road travelers benefit from the well designed facilities during their travels.

« We’re thrilled to partner with ONE HUNDRED restrooms to bring high-quality facilities to all road users at our Fastned locations. Our aim is to make road travel as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and with ONE HUNDRED on board, we’re elevating this experience. ONE HUNDRED OPENS TWO RESTROOM HUBS AT DOCKS BRUXSEL

Next level restroom comfort for visitors of the shopping district

Brussels, Belgium – Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 – A new standard of restroom comfort has arrived at Docks Bruxsel with the official opening of two well-being hubs by ONE HUNDRED restrooms. Visitors can now enjoy a completely renewed and comfortable restroom experience. These new restrooms mark a key milestone as the brand’s fifth location in Belgium and its debut in the country’s capital city. ONE HUNDRED restrooms continues to lead the way in redefining public restroom standards across Europe.

The official opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Richard Matterazzo, Technical & Facilities Director at Docks Bruxsel, and Nathalie Verheyen, Business Growth Manager at ONE HUNDRED restrooms.

Richard Matterazzo, Technical & Facilities Director at Docks Bruxsel, explains:
“We are delighted to welcome ONE HUNDRED restrooms to Docks Bruxsel. Their innovative approach to restroom design perfectly aligns with our commitment to sustainability and enhancing the customer experience. These new restroom hubs complement the high level of service we strive to offer throughout our shopping center, ensuring every visitor enjoys a seamless and comfortable experience. By integrating cutting-edge, sustainable solutions, ONE HUNDRED restrooms helps us further elevate Docks Bruxsel as a premier retail and leisure destination.”

Nathalie Verheyen, Business Growth Manager at ONE HUNDRED restrooms, adds:
« Seeing the first ONE HUNDRED restrooms locations I was involved in bringing to life open here in my home country at Docks Bruxsel makes this milestone even more meaningful. It’s a great feeling to know visitors can now experience the comfort and well-being we strive to deliver. I am really proud to be part of this fast-growing business with so much energy and potential, and I hope to see more ONE HUNDRED restroom locations open in Belgium in the coming years.”

Antwerp design
The award-winning design is a creation of WeWantMore, an Antwerp-based design studio. Their reinterpretation of the traditional restroom experience incorporates the principles of health, well-being, and beauty. The goal is to provide visitors with a moment of well-being through a carefully balanced mix of design, technology, and service.

Ruud Belmans, Creative Director of Spatial Design at WeWantMore, explains:
“Public restrooms in Europe don’t exactly have the best reputation. Most people want to get in and out as quickly as possible. The design of ONE HUNDRED restrooms, however, goes beyond a quick bathroom break. It encourages visitors to take a moment to breathe and recharge. While the high-tech features certainly contribute to the experience, they also presented a challenge. With everything being digital, there’s a risk of it feeling impersonal and cold—something we absolutely wanted to avoid. The natural materials, organic shapes, and indirect lighting provide the necessary balance, ensuring the experience feels personal and serene.”

Rainwater flushing
Docks Bruxsel is a dynamic retail destination offering over 100 stores, 15 restaurants, office spaces, and an indoor adventure park. Known for its sustainability, the center features 5,000 square meters of solar panels and a rainwater reuse system, which also supports the new restroom facilities. With the upcoming Legoland Discovery Centre and a strong focus on exceptional visitor experiences, Docks Bruxsel continues to set the standard for modern shopping and entertainment.

Features of the new restrooms
The two restroom locations at Docks Bruxsel are equipped with advanced features, including touchless technology, water-saving systems, soothing music, indirect lighting, and carefully designed interiors that create a sense of calm and cleanliness. Separate areas for men, women, and families, as well as a dedicated room for disabled visitors, ensure accessibility for all. Both restrooms also feature a nursery room equipped with a baby changing table, microwave, and feeding chair.

Docks Bruxsel is the first shopping center in Belgium to introduce a smart urinal capable of measuring hydration levels in real time. The urinal is developed by the Barcelona start-up Kamleon, the non-invasive technology analyses urine to provide a hydration score, displayed on a screen above the urinal. This innovative feature aims to raise awareness about the importance of regular hydration to improve well-being and prevent dehydration-related illnesses. The smart urinal will be installed in early 2025.

The new restrooms will be accessible during the shopping center’s operating hours. Visitors with disabilities and children under 7 can use the facilities free of charge. The €1 entry fee includes a voucher that can be redeemed for special offers at participating stores, such as Only & Sons, MyEcoClean, ABYstyle, Mediamarkt, and OS Opportunity.
