About ONE HUNDRED restrooms
ONE HUNDRED restrooms offers premium paid public restrooms to high traffic locations like petrol stations, shopping malls and train stations.

Public toilets in Europe have quite a bad image. The ambition of ONE HUNDRED is to create a new standard in public restrooms and make a toilet break inspirational. ONE HUNDRED believes the restroom of the future is a place, a health hub, build around the principles of well-being. A place to relieve, refresh and reload. The ONE HUNDRED restrooms experience goes beyond clean, safe toilets in high traffic areas, as it combines cutting-edge technology, sustainable design and service to create moments for better well-being.

In addition, the facilities are fully equipped with high-tech tools like water flow meters, digital motivational mirrors, a smart payment system and connected dispensers. Technology that doesn’t only contribute to the overall experience, it also plays an important factor in terms of operational efficiency and sustainability. Strategic partners Essity, Roca and Diversey – leaders in their sector – highly contribute to the sustainability and innovation of the concept. ONE HUNDRED restrooms is on the verge of a large European roll-out with various operational partners.

Multiple award-winning design
The Grands prix du design award isn’t the first recognition for the ONE HUNDRED restrooms project, designed by WeWantMore studio from Antwerp. The design has been awarded in 2019 with a Silver A’Design award and a platinum MUSE design award and in 2020 with an iF design award.

About WeWantMore
WeWantMore is a Belgium based award winning design studio, founded in 2006, focusing on graphic, interior and experiential design. WeWantMore wants to lead the way in designing how brands shape and interact with the world, by relentlessly pushing the boundaries of creativity, challenging accepted beliefs and demanding more from both themselves and their clients.

“Inspired by ONE HUNDRED’s vision, we wanted to redefine the toilet break moment as such. Rather than designing a merely functional area, we re- interpreted the concept of a public restroom as a place to relieve, refresh and reload. As a result, the ONE HUNDRED restrooms experience goes beyond a clean toilet in a high traffic area. It creates a true moment of well-being through an intricate combination of cutting-edge technology, design and service.” Ruud Belmans, founder, and Creative Director at WeWantMore.

ONE HUNDRED restrooms wint ADIF tender

PRESS RELEASE

ONE HUNDRED RESTROOMS WINS ADIF TENDER
Future proof restroom experience for travelers in Spain

Amsterdam, 08 March 2021— ONE HUNDRED restrooms has won the tender for the lease and operation of ten paid restroom facilities at the five main ADIF-Alta Velocidad stations. The first future proof restrooms are scheduled to open in June 2021.

Health & Hygiene are not the first things that come to mind when visiting a public restroom at a train station. But at the five main stations in Spain travelers will soon be able to visit the first store of ONE HUNDRED restrooms and leave healthier and without any hygiene concerns. ONE HUNDRED restrooms offers visitors services to “Relieve, Refresh, Reload” that turns a toilet visit from a necessary evil into a reviving micro break. The five stations that will get the new facilities are: Barcelona Sants, Madrid Puerta de Atocha, Madrid Chamartín, Zaragoza Delicias and Alicante.

Niels Bakker, Managing Director ONE HUNDRED Iberia comments: “This is very exciting news for ONE HUNDRED, our partners and the public who use these services whilst travelling. It means a significant step for ONE HUNDRED in view of our ambition to become the number 1 toilet operator within the European market. Spain is an important market for us, as we launched our concept in Madrid, and the ADIF project will be one of our biggest operations. We are looking forward to contributing with this project and introduce the new standard in public restrooms to travelers of ADIF-Alta Velocidad.”

The new standard
The facilities will include many new features beside the design, experience and cleanliness. With cutting-edge technology, health-check areas, a hydration station and other inclusive services like stoma cleaning and nurseries, that make a difference to the well-being of visitors. All designed and equipped with a high degree of environmental awareness and innovation. ONE HUNDRED is supported by strategic blue-chip partners: Essity, a global leader in hygiene and health; Spanish established Roca, who is world leader in the production and marketing of bathroom products; and Diversey, a leading company in the supply of intelligent and sustainable solutions for cleaning and hygiene.

Station of the future
Market conditions and customer expectations of a clean toilet break are changing rapidly as are the requirements to meet those expectations. A recent research shows that due to Covid-19 60% will   evaluate the presence of high-quality, hygienic toilet facilities in public spaces more critically. Also, it is anticipated that people are taking an even greater interest in their health and preventive well-being. Today’s stations are largely functional and used primarily as “transit spaces”. The station of the future will focus more on becoming a “destination” with an appealing range of high-quality services for retail, food and well-being, making it an attractive place to spend time.

Operational excellence
ONE HUNDRED is all about operational excellence. Especially in busy locations such as train stations, this is of fundamental importance. At ONE HUNDRED, the focus is on innovations and strategic alliances to ensure continuous development underpins and contributes to the operational excellence processes. Using over 10 years of industry experience and focusing on the top 20 significant issues of the past has set the core foundation for the award winning design and data driven operations that manifest into an industry leading customer and partner experience.
